Renault Talisman S-Edition Has A New Megane RS-Sourced 1.8 Turbo

With 225 hp, this is the most powerful Talisman in the range.
Khodrocar - Renault has finally expanded the Talisman range with a sportier version to answer the Skoda Superb SportLine, Ford Mondeo ST Line, and the likes on the European D-segment market. The Talisman S-Edition is making its official debut in Geneva, where’s it’s bringing a new 1.8-liter turbo gas engine.

It’s the same unit that works under the hood of the Megane RS and Alpine A110, but in this application is detuned to deliver 225 horsepower (165 kilowatts) and 221 pound-feet (300 Newton-meters) of torque. It is mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, which sends the power to the front wheels. Renault is not providing acceleration and max speed numbers, but claims the "powerplant provides enhanced driving enjoyment.”

In addition to the new 1.8 turbo motor, the Talisman S-Edition comes with Renault’s 4Control (rear steering wheels) and Electronic Damper Control (adaptive suspension) systems. They are both included in the standard equipment and provide "impeccably smooth ride.” Also part of the standard features list are the full-LED smart headlights, 19-inch wheels, tinted rear windows, S-Edition badging, and black side mirror caps.

Inside the cabin, the sporty atmosphere continues with black full-leather interior with red contrasting stitching for the seats and dashboard, grey and red carpet mats with embroidered S-Edition motif, aluminum sport pedal caps, and other aluminum accents.

"With S-Edition, Talisman adds the sporty touch waited for our customers in the range,” Sandra Gomez, D-segment Program Director at the French company, comments. "The new 1.8-liter 225-hp engine blends power with refinement to deliver even greater driving enjoyment.”

Renault is currently displaying the new Talisman S-Edition in Geneva as an estate model, and will have it on sale across Europe from September this year. Depending on the market, it will be available with other turbo gas or diesel engines with pricing to be revealed at a later date.
